The SAFRAN includes procedure for evaluation of population exposure due to routine radionuclide discharges to a sewer or river. This is performed on the basis of precalculated dose conversion factors (DCF).
As default, SAFRAN database includes the IAEA publication Generic Models for Use in Assessing the Impact of Discharges of Radioactive Substances into the Environment, Safety Report Series No. 19, IAEA, Vienna (2001), Annex I, Table I-IV (for discharges into a sewer) and Table I-V (for discharges into a river) provided values.
